The game will play these greetings if you start the game on the indicated date.

Christmas, Dec. 25th -- File played is ‘Cookie6.wav’ - Merry Christmas my liege

New Year’s Day, Jan 1st -- File played is ‘Cookie7.wav’ - Happy new year my lord.

April 1st -- File played is ‘Cookie8.wav’ – Gadzooks, why if it isn't April fools day

July 4th -- File played is ‘Cookie9.wav’ - Happy 4th of July my liege

These files will sound in the middle of the game if the trigger is met.

On the 100th load of Stronghold 2 -- File played is ‘Cookie1.wav’ - Congratulations my lord this is the one hundredth time you've played Stronghold.

If playing the game after midnight -- File played is ‘Cookie3.wav’ - It's very late sire, aren't you tired?

If playing the game in the wee hours of the morning -- File played is ‘Cookie2.wav’ - Not long till morning now sire, you're going to need your beauty sleep.

When playing the game for a long time -- File played is ‘Cookie4.wav’ - My lord, now might be a good time to take a nap.

When playing the game for an extremely long time -- File played is ‘Cookie5.wav - Please eat my liege, I fear you are wasting away.

When the game is first load, you are prompted to enter your name (which can subsequently be changed in the options). The game then will greet you according to your name each time you load the game, if it can match your name against a set of stock names. All of the greeting sound files are of the convention name###.wav. We have taken the time to match the inputted text to the wave file that is played.

If an exact match does not exist, then the game tries to match some part of the name you placed. For example, Lord Crian is not an entry in the files, but Lord Ian is. It matches the 'ian' of 'Crian' with 'Ian' from file name85.wav, 'Lord Ian', and so name85.wav plays when the game is loaded.

So if you are using a name that was not supplied, either the nearest matching name will play, or the default greeting will play if no match was found.
